We understood how a Digital Platform was critical to Irving Oil’s mission and vision for a single, on-brand, highly compelling, easy to use and mobile-first website.
Drupal has great standard features, like easy content authoring, reliable performance, and excellent security. But what sets it apart is its flexibility; modularity is one of its core principles. Its tools help you build the versatile, structured content that dynamic web experiences need. After a few clicks, you can access a full Drupal installation!
The solution OPIN provided was a website that delivers an exceptional digital experience to potential customers, recruits and stakeholders on a single, easy-to-use website that reflects values and builds brand equity. The new Drupal 8 site was built using dynamic components, with the objective of empowering the Irving Oil team to manage their digital assets effectively and efficiently.
The project also required a powerful and reliable hosting solution, for which Acquia has been involved. Acquia has not only been a strategic hosting partner on the project, but the solution also includes Acquia Lift, which will drive data-driven personalization for the digital journey.

The mobile-first components were designed to position and scale differently depending on device, platform and even page position. This level of detail ensures that the components are functional across the website and that styling remains on-brand. Using Acquia Edge, Irving Oil is able to scale up and down as necessary while adhering to the most sensitive of data compliance regulations and guidelines. Using Acquia’s secure hosting means that Irving’s site achieves resiliency, uptime, and security. The Irving Rewards was developed as an Angular app with connects to various APIs. This ensures that data is secure up-to-date and accessible by users on any platform. The app has been built as part of a decoupled Drupal solution to seamlessly integrate with the website. The location finder takes Irving’s customer service to the next level. Irving Oil is enabling customers of any kind to find the information they need when they need it. The tool allows users to track down the nearest fueling stations and sort by such categories as food, amenities, dog parks and more.
